CLA may help Coeliac Disease
Monday 20th of August 2012

Latest research has shown that Conjugated Linolenic Acid may have a protective effect on the intestines that are affected by Coeliac Disease.

A new study has shown that taking CLA supplementation may help fight the oxidative stress associated with Coeliac Disease - an autoimmume disease which causes the body's immune system to attack itself, and affects the gut.

The study, conducted on mice, showed that CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) helps the immune system block the suppression of its defence systems in the gut, which Coeliac Disease causes. The benefits of taking CLA supplements appear to be in the treatment of intestinal disease, helping the body's own natural defence systems remain active against oxidative stress.
More research needs to be done but the results look very promising.
